Opera is a great browser and offers tons of features. If you recently switched to Chromebook but have been using Opera before, you may still want to have it. And there is a way to have Opera on Chromebook.
So, to install Opera on your Chromebook, make sure Linux is turned on, download opera installation file (deb file) and install it.
Now with screenshots and step by step.
- Open Settings and go to Linux Beta.
- Turn on Linux Beta.
- Go to opera.com , Downloads and then scroll down to Download Opera for Linux and hit Download. The file must be of .deb format after you've downloaded it.
- Finally, open this .deb file you've downloaded and install Opera. After installation you can find the browser in your launcher menu.
Here is also a video on how to install Opera Browser on Chromebook (or Pixelbook).
P.S.: I've tested it on Pixelbook Go, but it should work on other Chromebooks that have Linux (Beta) support.
